Questions and answers FAQ about your card production at Akhofprint-Service

 

 I have sent an email with my layout wishes. How does it go from here?

We will create a first draft of the map as a PDF within 2 working days,

we will send you an offer by email.

I like a card, but I don't like the writing or the subject. Can I trade this?

Of course, you can put together the subjects, sayings and writings individually from different cards. Be creative - we are happy to implement your wishes for you.

Are formats and sizes other than those shown on the homepage also possible?

Of course, our printing machine can print up to a format of 700x1000mm. In this format, you are absolutely free in how big you want your card to be.

What happens after your first draft?

You tell us what you want to change and we will make you a new pattern. This happens until you are completely convinced of the card. As a special service of AKHOF-Print AG

this happens as often as you wish, at no extra cost.

I designed my own cards. Can I have these printed by you?

Yes, we are also happy to print your own cards. When creating your own cards, make sure that there is a 2 mm bleed area that will be cut away after printing and design accordingly

Your cards are 2mm larger all around. Send us your data as a high-end PDF-X3.

 

Why don't you publish concrete prices?

Because the price of a card is made up of the following points:

number of copies, number of different colours, paper quality, size of the card,

number of images to edit. This is different for each card. So send us your request

by email to info@akhofprint.ch   and we will be happy to make you an individual offer.

 

How do the pictures have to be (qualitative)?

All images must be sent as high-resolution JPEGs in COLOR via email or, if you have multiple images, via: https://www.wetransfer.com be transmitted. This also applies to images which

shown in black and white on the map. How come?

Because the quality of black and white images created by Photoshop is better.

 

Will my photos still be edited?

Yes, we don't print anything that we don't believe in ourselves.

 

What printing colors are available to me?

Either your cards are printed in full color CMYK or you look for here her favourite

Pantone color off. The colors in the print can differ slightly from the display on the screen. You can get correct color representation only if both the screen

and your home printer should be calibrated regularly.

 

The map layout is ready. What now?

After the birth of your baby, email us all outstanding information (height, weight, pictures, etc.).

Within a few hours we will send you the “OK for printing” as a PDF.

You MUST approve the card for printing.

We will only start production after your approval.

 

Can I order a printed sample card?

Unfortunately, no. Since we produce in offset printing, the effort would be about a single card

simply too big to produce.

What paper is it printed on?

Birth and thank you cards are usually printed on 350g/m2 (folding cards), 400g/m2 (single cards) matt coated white paper. Unless you have a special request.

The same applies to wedding cards, but you can choose from over 500 different types of paper (e.g. mica paper, differently structured paper, handmade paper, etc.)  to select.

 

Can I see/order paper samples in advance?

Of course. In our print shop, this is possible at any time after making an appointment.

We would also be happy to send you the samples by post free of charge.

 

How about the envelopes?

The same applies here as with paper. You choose from white, colored, festively shimmering,

choose your favorite envelope from transparent envelopes.

 

Can I receive the envelopes for the birth announcements earlier?

Of course. We would be happy to send them to you before the birth. So you can already label them.

 

How long does it take to receive my cards?

Once you have “OK for printing”, birth announcements will be sent to you by A Mail within 2-3 working days.

For all other cards, the delivery time is within 10 working days.

 

Can I reorder tickets what are the order quantities?

There are no minimum order quantities (except for laser cut cards, 30 pieces). Order in

In case of doubt, it is better to have more cards, since the multiple edition is much cheaper than a repeat order.

Since we produce in offset printing, a repeat order is almost as expensive as the first order.

Since the whole "machinery" has to be set in motion again.

 

How can I pay for my print products?

You will receive an invoice from us with a payment slip together with your cards and envelopes.

 

What if there is something to complain about?

If you are not satisfied with your order, please contact us.

It is best to send us an email with a photo of the defect.

We are convinced that we will then find a good solution for both sides.

 

Will my finished card be displayed on your website?

Yes, particularly beautiful, original cards are shown on our homepage as a reference.

However, if you do not want this, please let us know by email.
